BCR NEWS (MUMBAI) Oscar award winning movie Slumdog Millionaire choreographer and colossus of choreography, Longinus Fernandes was at the recently concluded ‘Orange Bowl Games of America’ (Miami). The yearly event include: seminars, conferences, demonstrations by well known dance personalities from across the world. Longinus was showing them how dances were created on Bollywood screens.

Says Longinus, “I was there due to my sheer love for the art and more over, the Orange Bowl at Miami is a wonderful platform which can bring glory to the country.”

Longinus participated in the ‘Orange Bowl Games of America’ five years back. “That was purely on a professional note where I was invited,” says Longi. “Compared to last time, the event was organized in a much higher scale by way of the number of participants, sessions held and this time my role was different. I got a chance to teach or explain a thing or two about how choreography is really done in Bollywood,” he adds.

During the event, it explained, how mass choreography is performed, how is it different from choreography on screen and field etc. through talks and demonstrations. Over 500 talented and enthusiastic students from across the United States performed along with their teachers in front of a packed 60,000 spectators in this dance annual extravaganza at Miami.

Longinus Fernandes has choreographed for Movies in Hindi, English and Chinese languages. A few songs among all of his best works are like Jai Ho (Slum Dog Millionaire), Pappu Can’t Dance Saala (Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na), Ala Barfi (Barfi!), Udi Udi (Guzaarish), Aaj Blue hai paani (Yaariyan), O haseena zulfon wali (Dil Vil Pyar Vyar), Saawariya Title song and the list goes in hundreds of other popular songs…
