We have seen numerous love stories on Indian television that capture different elements of love and its ever changing dynamics. Adding a dash of melody and loads of comedy, Sony SAB presents a new series ‘Dil De Ke Dekho’ which beautifully captures struggles of cupid bitten, love-struck couples from three generations belonging to neighbouring families. Aptly named, ‘Dil De Ke Dekho’, the show chronicles a journey showing how each couple is challenged with and faces hurdles that only make their passion stronger thereby safeguarding the belief in love. The show will see an interesting ensemble of cast of Kanwaljit Singh, Navneet Nishan, Amit Tandon, Preet Kaur, Abhishek Bajaj and Anju Jadhav.
Dil De Ke Dekho premiers on Tuesday, 18th October 2016 every Monday to Friday at 10:30pm only on Sony SAB!
Set in Delhi, Dil De Ke Dekho is the story of two families, the Shastris and the Chopras who happen to be neighbours. Coincidently, the singles from each family find a love interest in the opposite’s house. The show will present a unique facet of love, how each generation struggles with it and how they perceive and interpret it.
The oldest character Hridayanath Shastri, played by Kanwaljit Singh, a widower, gives a second chance to love at this stage of life and tries to woo his neighbour Tulsi Chopra, Navneet Nishan, who is an ex- stuntwoman from Bollywood. On the other hand, the middle-aged couple Simran Shastri, played by Preet Kaur, and Kamal Chopra played by Amit Tandon spent their heydays in search of their respective soulmates without realizing that their true love is right next door. The generation Y, the youngest in both the families, grandchildren, Rahul Shastri and Preet Chopra have a different and modern take on love altogether.
Dil De Ke Dekho will show the trail and tussles of love and romance which will lead to funny situations that the pursuer has to go through, to yearn and to woo the significant other. The show celebrates the essence of love and tries to bring forth perspectives of three different generations in a distinctive style with a dose of laughter.
