Voters Party

BCR NEWS (New Delhi): Voters Party has launched its campaign in India in order to bring fundamental changes in democratic politics of India. Indian democracy has the structures and therefore, is perceived to be the largest democracy in the world.  But, it lacks substance in terms of a robust process and solid institutions.  It gets too individualised.

·       Government must pass “Voters Rule Bill” in the current session of the parliament : Dr. D. K. Giri

·       Voters party will launch a nation wide campaign to press the demand of “Voters Rule Bill”

Dr. D. K. Giri, president of Voters Party said today in a Press Conference at Press Club of India (PCI) that union government must pass Voters Rule Bill in the ongoing session of Parliament. He said that Voters Party India wishes to reform them by redefining some fundamental values, substituting some, and introducing a few. These principles are: Equality, Dignity, Identity, Pluralism and Solidarity.  While these cover all aspects of our life, we wish to bring the voters into the political and governance process as they are the sovereigns in a democracy. We wish to do so by giving them – Bhagidari (Participation), Zimmedari (Responsibility) and Hissedari (Revenue Share).  This will enhance democracy and contribute to building a good society.

According to Dr. Giri, The Voters Party plans to use Haryana to field-test these ideas and stake its claim to government formation in the next 5 years. In Haryana, the Party would take up all issues that deepen our values – the issues would relate to Jal, Jangal, Jamin, jan & Janwer (water, forests, land, people and animals). We would talk about the ‘Economy of tomorrow’ based on growth and just distribution.  We will raise education, skill building leading to gainful employment.  We will raise issues like social inequalities and caste discrimination.  We will talk of pluralism and identity politics, not sterile secularism.

Voters Party goes beyond Aam Admi Party in new politics and the old parties with its unique ideas, approach and ideology.  We are not an issue-based movement that rises and falls like waves but we are a Party based on principles and a solid ideology.  We ask the people of Haryana in particular and Indians in general to support us and help us usher in “new politics”, that is meaningful, impactful and enduring.

Plan of Action

1.    Voters Party will organise a Party Conference in 3 months to announce its policies

2.    It will organise demonstrations in all 21 districts of Haryana to press for votership

3.    The party will organise mass-contact to campaign for voter raj

4.    The party will put pressure by voters on Legislators and Parliamentarians, their representatives to debate and legislate not to disrupt the functions of the legislatures.
