THE RUSSIAN FILM ‘CELESTIAL CAMEL’ BAGGED ANOTHER AWARD
Jimmy Shergill graced the evening with his presence
BCR NEWS (New Delhi): The week long Smile International film festival conducted its award ceremony at Sirifort Auditorium in the presence of Jimmy Shergill, Suman Ganguly, Director of ‘Blue Mountain’ and Amitabha Singh, Director of ‘Shortcut Safari’. Where the internationally acclaimed film ‘Celestial Camel’ won best direction award, Best feature film was bagged by ‘Birds of Passage’.
Jimmy Shergill was felicitated with a special award by Mr. Jitendre Mishra, festival Director SIFFCY. Speaking on the occasion, Jimmy said “I am really glad that through SIFFCY, different worlds of children got an opportunity to interact with each other. It’s such a good platform to recognize meaningful cinema from around the world.”
The festival promoted ‘Swatch Bharat Campaign’ among privileged and underprivileged children apart from regular screening of films. The Centre of attraction was the sand art by renowned sand artist Mr.Sudam Pradhan who made a sand sculpture of 8ft. tall Santa holding a broom that gave message to the children to keep our city clean.
From feature films to short films, Animation to Students’ films, hundreds of children from schools and NGO’s were part of it. SIFFCY conducted Workshops on film making too where children participated in great enthusiasm.
