BCR NEWS (Mumbai): Filmmaker Prakash Jha has refuted “misleading” reports of his forthcoming film “Jai Gangaajal” getting stuck in the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) swirl over certification. He says he never made any voluntary cuts for a “UA” certificate.

According to some reports, Jha locked horns with the censor board, which wanted to grant “A” certificate to the Priyanka Chopra-starrer with minimal cuts. But the director was not on the same page as he insisted on “UA” certificate with cuts in view of the restrictive audiences’ profile and participation that comes with ‘A’ certificate.

“Inaccurate and Misleading Report! Censor Board cuts violence, abuses to facilitate UA rating for ‘Jai Gangaajal’,” Jha tweeted on Saturday (Janauary 2).

He added: “Misleading and inaccurate! Never made voluntary cuts…We are going in appeal against the CBFC’s decision”.
