The director while shooting for her debut film Ek Dakshina Gurudakshina produced by Aayush and Eshaan Phadnis under their banner Moonwalker Production ended up going to the interior parts of Purulia,West Bengal. It was all going good until the she got handed over a letter from the Naxalites.
Yes, the warning letter demanded them to pack their bags and head out of the place without turning back. But who was to deter the undeterred Kiran Phadnis from calling the shots! The director went back to the same place after a few months where the naxalites operate and after ensuring everyone’s safety shot her film!The film has Malyalam actor Rajeev Pillai, Girish Karnad,Roopa Ganguly,Rajesh Shringarpure and Sulagna Panigrahi.
