Mumbai: The Committed Community Development Trust (CCDT), a 30-year-old institution working for the welfare of the community in Maharashtra, taking into account all the precautions of COVID’19 set by the government on Saturday 20 February 2020 launched a project for the empowerment of adolescents in the Dharavi region of Mumbai.

Mr. Deepak Tripathi, Operations Manager shared about the project that this project of CCDT will be implemented for a period of one year.

Under this, Drawing competition for adolescent children was organized on 31 March 2021 in Dharavi. Around 60 children participated in it. Seeing the greater number of children, they were divided into 3 sections to maintain social distancing. Protection from Corona and Holi festival were the topics. Children demonstrated their art through fine paintings. In the midst of a long-running lockdown, the program succeeded in boosting their creative power by getting the children out of their boredom.

CCDT’s Adolescent Empowerment Program allows teens to make meaningful contributions not only to their own development but also to developing community eco-systems. The program will strengthen government programs targeted for adolescents as well as its initiatives and community response to address COVID-19.
