BCR NEWS (New Delhi): Mozez Singh’s coming-of-age musical drama, Zubaan, starring Vicky Kaushal and Sarah Jane Dias in the lead roles was the Opening Film of the prestigious Busan International Film Festival held in Korea .It was the first time in the history of the biggest film festival in Asia, that a Bollywood musical has been selected to open the festival. Zubaan was screened in an amphiteatre with fireworks et al, with over 6000 people and the audience in attendance included the biggest luminaires from Asian cinema as well as Hollywood. The opening night was a serious and super glamorous black tie & red carpet event.
The movie not only received spectacular and promising reviews but also a standing ovation from the audience.And the icing on the cake , sources reveal ,was when the festival dignitaries approached the makers, to discuss the possibility of releasing the movie in Korea simultaneously with its Indian release . It was also communicated that they would love to get the movie dubbed in the Korean Language so that it has an extensive reach.
Sources also add that on the eve of the screening, director Mozez Singh, the starcast of the film Vicky Kaushal & Sarah Jane Dias and producers Guneet Monga and Shaan Vyaas were invited to a private dinner with the BIFF festival directors at the poshest restaurant in Korea, Yeyije.
Reason being the festival directors were so impressed with the film that they took the Zubaan team out for a celebratory private dinner

The response to the film has been overwhelming.Interest in the films has been unprecedented .Quite a few from the Chinese film industry have shown interest in the film and as a filmmaker there can be nothing better. Though it’s too premature to talk about right now , we are in discussions to have the film release in Korea for the Korean market.
