BCR NEWS (New Delhi): The 5th edition of Delhi International Film Festival concluded to a glittering awards ceremony in New Delhi at the NDMC Convention Center.  After week-long days of cultural fiesta, DIFF came to curtains with many faces from cinema, art and cultural spheres present at the occasion.

Master Indian filmmaker Mani Ratnam was presented with the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’. Famous actor Ravi Kishan was presented with the Special Honour Award as ‘Best Actor of the Year’ and legendary actress Kseniya Ryabinkina of ‘Mera Naam Joker Fame’ from Russia received the special ‘Minar-e-Dilli’ award. Among many glowing faces in attendance, Praveen Dabbas, Mira & Begum Nawazish Ali from Pakistan, Yashpal Sharma, Shruti Ulfat and Sudhir Mishra were most easily recognizable.

Harsh Nagar who is in news for his demand to make it mandatory to play National Anthem in theatres before each show, considering his fight for National Anthem and services to the people especially to motivate Youth, DIFF has awarded him as “YOUTH ICON OF THE YEAR 2016”.

It was the first time in the capital that a film festival has major participation from Arab, Mediterranean & Gulf region of the world. Gracing the occasion were the High Commissioners of Palestine, Serbia, Morocco, Iraq and the Counselor ministers of Sri Lanka and Spain to India.
