Essaying the role of Ayesha Mehra, a successful businesswoman, Priyanka Chopra, treated her fans to another nuanced performance of a woman building a winning business but crumbling under an unsuccessful marriage.
The actress was inundated with praise coming in from the critics and the industry alike – Priyanka was lauded for delivering a power packed performance and emoting every shade of the character with perfection. What stood out for most was Priyanka’s finely nuanced performance, which very effectively highlighted the underlying theme of female emancipation in the film. Her honest portrayal of a women finding her voice and stepping out of the stereotypes that have shackled her allows the message to seep into the audiences’ consciousness.
