Swati Bhat in conversation with curator of IFFI ‘Film Bazar 2019’ Deepti D’cunha.

BCR NEWS (Swati Bhat/Goa): As every year, Film Bazar is all set to raise it’s hands towards the independent filmmaker to give an apt platform front of the world to sell their film across the globe.

Deepti D’cunha , the curator of Film Bazar took out a good quality time to talk about Film Bazar. “I have been a programmer of International Film Festivals over the past one decade and I have worked with film festivals in Europe and China also in india and I do follow all programmes what gets curated everywhere. the idea is we have a viewing room section . It’s a film market. There can’t be any rejection. who ever applied and complete the forms should be there at the market. but as this year we have 213 films registered , there should be certain marker of quality. so what we look out is for directorial talents most importantly and also we look at Production values . there is certain standard for Production International and in indian film market look into. But curation will not only look at just these two factors .it also looks at showing the diversity in terms of content towards various things and also there is a lot of representation in lots of different areas . if I say we proceed films in thirty languages like films from very rare language or region who has potential to be programmed. We have programmed films in past like ‘ Rajbangshi” ‘Maithili’ from smaller religions. Film Bazar gives an opportunity to come here pitch their films at Film Bazar . It is our attempt to reach out to the film makers from different areas of India who are an independent filmmakers and making films without any support from an industry. We want them to come here and recognise this as a market and get connected with National and International Buyers and Distributors. Keeping everything in mind, we are trying to project films with certain qualities and we have seen a great success. The film we project are A listed because  ace International festivals like Cannes,  Berlin, Toronto, Bhusan, etc. they look very closely at the movies recommended by Film Bazar.” While stating this Deepti D’cunha sounded very optimistic towards Film Bazar 2019.
