Recently Amitabh made a statement in the show that “I am not related to any religion.” This statement was made in a special episode of Gandhi Jayanti. He has also said that his real last name is not Bachchan.
Indian Sociologist Mr.Bindeshwar Pathak has been chosen as the contestant in the special episode of Gandhi Jayanti in ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’. While sitting on the hot seat, Amitabh said, ‘My surname is not related to any religion because my father Harivanshrai was constantly opposed to religion. My real last name is Srivastava but we never believed it. I am the first member of my family to be named Bachchan and I am proud of him,” said Amitabh. Further, Amitabh has told another story. ‘My father was asked for my last name when I was taking admission in kindergarden. After that my father decided to bring my last name Bachchan. When the census staff comes to my house and asks me about my religion, I tell them I am not related to any particular religion but I am an Indian, ”says Big B.
