BCR News (Ajay Shastri/New Delhi): Today, Indian Youth Congress and Mahila Congress held a joint protest over the issue of delay in Gujarat Vidhan Sabha elections. As reports suggested Election Commission was supposed to announce dates for elections in Gujarat and Himachal on Thursday. But after the press conference on Thursday Election Commission declared Assembly Election date only for Himachal Pradesh stating Gujarat elections will be notified soon. This is a clear break down of Country’s Democracy.
Election Commission of India, which is a statutory body, functioning independently and one of the most transparent organization in the Country, have forced us to re-think its delineation. It is absolutely clear that Gujarat Government is paranoid of losing its long regime over the state and wants to take cabinet decisions on announcing certain populist schemes for people before Elections. And Election Commission has offered them this time-phase of distributing freebies to lure people’s hatred into good share of votes.
This biased action of Election Commission has raised big questions on the present Democratic Structure of the Country and also points out to the fact that Modi Government has never ascribed to the Constitutional Functioning of a Fair Poll throughout the country, i.e. either it is EVM Tampering or now EC Tampering !
IYC and Mahila Congress started a protest against Election Commission from IYC office at Raisina Road towards Election Commission. However, protesters were stopped by police before reaching Election Commission but protesters kept raising slogans against Election Commission and Modi ji. An Effigy of Narendra Modi was burnt outside Election Commission.
This protest lead by IYC Secretary Sitaram Lamba and Mahila Congress General Secretaries Netta D’Souza , General Secretaries Srinivas B V, Manish Thakur, Keshav Chand Yadav, Harish Pawar IYC Secretaries Umashankar Pandey ,Abraham Roy Mani, Jebi Mather, Tauquir Alam, Vootla Vara Prasad, Santhosh Kolkunda , Rutvij Joshi, Ram Vishal Dev, Hemant Ogale , Ravindra Dass, Purna Chandra Padhi, Praveen Kumar , Pratibha Raghuvanshi, Harikrishna, Deepak Mishra ,IYC Media Incharge Amrish Ranjan Pandey ,many PYC Presidents along with Delhi Pradesh Youth Congress office bearers and other party loyalists.
