BCR NEWS (New Delhi): The 105th Bihar Diwas, Bihar Utsav 2017 was inaugurated on 25th March 2017 at INA, Dilli Haat, Delhi by Shri Jai Kumar Singh, Minister, Department of Industries, Govt. of Bihar. On this occasion, Shri. S. Siddharth, Principal Secretary, Department of Industries, Shri. Vipin Kumar, Resident Commissioner, Bihar and other members of the Department of Industries were present. After the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, the Hon’ble Minister visited the various stalls of handicraft and handloom products represented by Bihar. He appreciated the live demonstration of art and artifacts which is a treasure chest of priceless art collections and epitomizes the heritage of Bihar. This was followed by the cultural programme for the evening. A three day long cultural evening is part of the Bihar Utsav. The programme began with Bihar Gourav Gaan, which was performed by Usha Sing, Satendra Singh and Amar Anand.
On occasion of Bihar Diwas Mr. Singh said that our goal is to achieve 15% annual industrial growth rate and in total economic fields, & generating direct employment opportunities for five lakhs people. At the same time, to ensure the skill development of the locals by the industries, to achieve the goal of 1.50 (1.55 crore) skilled youth under the 7th decision of the State Government.
The Govt. of Bihar has been organizing this event every year in Delhi since 2010. This year the exhibition cum sale has been going on since 16th Mar 2017 and will conclude on 31st Mar 2017.
The Bihar Utsav 2017, exhibition cum sale is showcasing tourism, tradition, art, culture and cuisines of Bihar in Delhi highlighting the development of Bihar through 50 stalls of handloom and handicrafts. Main attractions on these stalls areBhagalpuri silk, Madubani paintings, Siki products, famous handloom bed sheets of BasBigha, wooden crafts and leather products. The “Food Court” features a menu of mouth watering Bihari Cuisines which include delicacies like Litti choka, Pusa Honey, Makhna kheer, Belgrami etc. People from different parts of Delhi are visiting to taste these delicious food of Bihar.
